Initial situation/Climate resilience and adaptation
Central Asia is one of the regions particularly affected by the impacts of climate change. Rising temperatures, changing precipitation patterns and more frequent extreme weather events have a direct impact on agricultural productivity, water availability and the stability of ecological systems. Rural population groups in particular are highly vulnerable, as their livelihoods often depend directly on natural resources.
This thematic area includes projects that focus on strengthening climate-resilient structures and adapting to climate change. These include large-scale projects such as CAMP4ASB, which aims to coordinate regional adaptation strategies in the Aral Sea basin, as well as locally focused projects on climate-adapted agriculture and integrated landscape planning, for example in the river basins of Tajikistan.
