The “Kazakh-German Institute for the Protection of Biodiversity and Ecosystems (KaGEB)” strives to contribute to research, practice, and society through the development of innovative projects that can contribute to reducing ecosystem and biodiversity loss in the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asian region. The necessary international transfer of knowledge is substantiated by a cooperative relationship between Kazakhstan and Germany. In this context, measures for regional value creation to protect ecosystems and biodiversity, qualification measures for students and young scientists as well as communication concepts for society, politics, business and administration are developed.

KaGEB was founded in April 2023 and is located at KazNARU, 8, Abay av., 050010 Almaty, Republic Kazakhstan. Kazakh and German experts will work together in the cooperation network to develop the future structure of the institute and the institute's goals. The institute is open to the further development of international and interdisciplinary cooperation and partnerships.

In this context, measures for regional value creation to protect ecosystems and biodiversity, qualification measures for students and young scientists as well as communication concepts for society, politics, business and administration are developed.
