Introduction
The Biodiversity Platform for Central Asia aims to provide a structured overview of ongoing and completed projects as well as existing expertise in the fields of biodiversity and the strongly connected fields, sustainable land use and climate resilience.
The focus is on the transparent presentation of the initial situation: Which topics have already been dealt with scientifically or in terms of development policy? Which organizations are involved? What data, findings and structures are already available?
The platform is aimed at researchers, political decision-makers, NGOs and international organizations that are active in Central Asia or are interested in the region. It is intended to help make existing knowledge visible, facilitate access to sources and contacts and thus avoid redundancies.
In the long term, the platform aims to promote synergies between actors and avoid duplication of work by identifying similar activities at an early stage and initiating cooperation.
The information is deliberately presented briefly, clearly and thematically as an entry point for in-depth research or future collaboration. New projects in the areas of biodiversity, sustainable land use and climate resilience in Central Asia are expressly welcome and can be added at any time. The aim is to create as comprehensive and up-to-date a picture as possible of the research and implementation landscape in the region.
